Our Graduates & Old Xaverians

At Xavier College, the formation of our students extends far beyond the classroom. Throughout their years at the College, our young men are encouraged to grow in character, conscience and compassion. By the time they graduate, they carry with them not only knowledge and skills, but the values and dispositions that shape a meaningful life.

Our Graduates

Through their Xavier journey, we strive to form exceptional Xavier graduates who are:

  • Authentic by their integrity, inquiry, reflection and conscience
  • Spiritual through faith, hope and love
  • Positive in their action, their diverse intelligence and competence, their leadership and accomplishment
  • Inspiring, courageous and committed in making a difference in the world
  • Resilient, embracing vulnerability and diversity and thriving on challenge and adversity
  • Empathetic, compassionate, with generous hearts, who value community and act for and with others

We aim for every student to leave the College with confidence, adaptability and a strong sense of service. Their pathways after school are varied and evolving — whether in further education, professional life, community involvement or personal pursuits. Whatever direction they choose, they do so with the foundation of their Xavier experience behind them.

Becoming an Old Xaverian

On graduation, every student becomes part of the Old Xaverians - a community that extends across generations and around the world.

Founded in 1898, the Old Xaverians’ Association (OXA) now encompasses more than 16,000 former students. It includes young men taking their first steps beyond school, established professionals, those living interstate or overseas, and families for whom Xavier traditions span several generations.

The purpose of the OXA is to foster connection, fellowship and lifelong engagement with the College. Through the Association, Old Xaverians can:

  • Attend reunions, gatherings and special events
  • Stay informed through news, communications and updates
  • Participate in affiliated sporting clubs — including Athletics, Cricket, Football, Hockey and Soccer — carrying their Xavier spirit into new arenas
  • Support current students through mentoring, guidance and opportunities
  • Contribute to College initiatives through bursaries, scholarships and community programs

The OXA plays a vital role in sustaining the strong sense of belonging that characterises the Xavier community. It ensures that the relationship between past students and the College continues well beyond school years.

A Lifelong Xavier Connection

The journey from student to Old Xaverian is a natural continuation of the values learned at the College. Our graduates move into the world with a commitment to lead, to serve and to act generously. The Old Xaverians’ network provides a space where these ideals can grow — through friendship, professional connection, service and ongoing involvement.

Together, our graduates and Old Xaverians form an extended Xavier community: one that honours tradition, encourages engagement, and strengthens the legacy of those who have walked the Xavier path.
