House System

Junior School (Prep – Year 6)

Xavier College welcomes students from our co-educational 3–4-year-old Kindergarten through to Year 6. Guided by Cura Personalis - the care of each individual - students are encouraged to develop confidence, friendships and a sense of community.

From Prep, students join one of the Junior School Houses. Houses foster belonging and participation in friendly competitions, fundraising initiatives and community-building activities.

The Junior School houses are as follows:

  • Glowrey
  • Hurtado
  • Arrupe
  • Fernando

Senior School

In Years 7 and 8, students learn in homerooms with boys from the same year level while belonging to a Senior School House. They participate in inter-house activities alongside older students, forming connections and building school spirit from the start of their Senior School journey.

From Year 9, the vertical House and Tutor Group system provides structured support and a strong sense of community. Tutor Groups include students from Years 9–12 and are led by a dedicated Tutor throughout the Senior Years. Daily meetings, House gatherings and inter-house events encourage leadership, friendship and healthy competition.
